Description

A stylish pilothouse sloop designed for fast, safe, comfortable ocean passage-making with fully instrumented steering positions both in the cockpit and within the shelter of the enclosed pilothouse. WET NOSE was custom designed for world cruising in luxury and style in any climate. Levels of safety are exceptional throughout. The designer has skillfully combined the proven virtues of a classic heavy displacement hull with sleek modern topsides. The result is a handsome yacht having clean lines of aesthetically pleasing proportions with the volume and storage space usually found only on much larger yachts.

Constructed in steel for durability and safety, especially when cruising in coral waters, Wetnose has a deep long keel configuration which provides excellent directional stability and sea kindliness. A powerful high aspect Rondal sloop rig provides a fine sailing performance. The cutter headsails with hydraulic headsail furling, hydraulic in-mast mainsail furling and electric self-tailing winches make for easy short-handed sailing. A powerful 165HP auxiliary engine and hydraulic bow thruster facilitate handling under power and maneuvering in restricted space. The walk-in engine room is very spacious and makes any maintenance or repair work extremely easy. Sophisticated instrumentation, and up-to-date electronics and communication equipment complete the package. The four-cabin layout provides flexibility for extended cruising by an owner and guests and is ideally suited for family sailing with children.

WET NOSE is capable of going anywhere and being sailed and handled by just two people. Her layout lends itself to operate either with or without crew according to preference. Her inventory is exceptionally comprehensive. WET NOSE was built in Holland by the famous Van Dam Shipyard to the highest standards and with attention to the smallest details under the supervision of German Lloyds to 100A4 (unlimited ocean passages) without regard to cost.

She has later been scrupulously maintained and continuously updated and improved by just three fastidious owners. Major refits were carried out in 1994/5, 1999/2000, and 2003/4.
